Jen Pilles is a Canadian artist living in the Algoma region of Northern Ontario.
Jen holds a BAA with Honors in Illustration from Sheridan College, and has over a decade of experience as a freelance illustrator and graphic designer. Since 2020 she has moved away from the commercial arts industry and now specializes in plein air painting, and cyanotype printmaking, with a focus on the landscapes of her beautiful Ontario home.
Jen’s art is a spiritual practice incorporating mindfulness and gratitude in celebration of nature and in honour of a moment in time. She considers each opportunity to create as a chance to expand the scope of her practice, and learn more about the world and herself. She combines drawing and painting, using a variety of mediums including gouache, watercolour, pencil and ink on paper.
“Through our eyes, the universe is perceiving itself. Through our ears, the universe is listening to its harmonies. We are the witnesses through which the universe becomes conscious of its glory, of its magnificence.” - Alan Watts
